New guy with a few questions

Postby 1mobile on Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:30 am

I will be moving from northern Wisconsin to Ocean Springs in a few months. We have an indoor clay offroad track and I race the Sportsman buggy (13.5) and spec SCT class with a Slash.

1. What tracks do you have, is it onroad, outdoor offroad and dirt oval?
2. What classes do you run?
3. What are your most popular classes?
4. How many vehicles are there on an average race day?
5. Do you have a hobby shop there or does everyone go to Hobbytown?

Thanks in advance for the responses. I'm really looking forward to racing dirt oval.

You were correct on the tracks, I'd say our most popular classes are 8th scale buggy and truggy there is usually prolly 20-25 people and Hobbytown is about 100 yards from the track, as for classes mod sct, 19t truck,truggy,2wd buggy, nitro buggy are on the offroad I don't know about onroad but the oval is mini slider, novice, outlaw, and nitro outlaw , hope this helps and welcome to the board

Novice and Outlaw were some of the biggest classes for the oval. Outlaw is an offroad truck with a wedge body. Novice is basically run what ya brung. If there isn't anything that matches what you want to run, if you can get three to a class they will run them. Everyone is very helpful and willing to work with you. These guys have done a lot of good work on the two tracks over the past few years. The racing is great, I miss it already

Onroad is pancar oval, nitro touring, electric touring sedan, 1/12th scale sometimes but been a while, supposed to start VTA class soon, novice class was oval but know novice touring. onroad has been up and down in the last year but I think we're making a comeback.
Its alo in front of Hobbytown, parking lot. As mentioned above, there's more than enough to help you out anyway, and we use amb transponders but do not rent them. We had nastruck, electric and nitro latemodels but havent had enough to race in a while. it only takes 3 for a class if you can get some others to join for other class.
We've just moved back to Mobile from Daphne which is across the bay, so hopefully when the word gets around that we're back we'll get some back that wouldn't travel across the bay.
Hope this helps.
