New to RC Racin'?

Newbie here

Postby Maverick on Sat Jun 19, 2010 10:36 pm

Hey guys, I'm brand new to R/C's. I would like to see about getting into racing but am unsure how to start. I would like to do drift but was told that we dont have an onroad course around here. That being said I was wondering what classes the new guys start off in and what would be a good rc to pick up that I can upgrade to run at a higher level at a later date. I enjoy tinkering, and I would like to do some learning so as not to trash everyon else's cars. I do know that I like running buggies but thats the only r/c i've ever run. Suggestions are highly welcome and I look forward to running with ya'll in the future.

Glad to have you here. If I'm not mistaken some are racing today from around 12:00 to 3:00, if so you should ride out to HobbyTown and watch some racing. Get a look at what class or classes may suite you better or cheaper until you upgrade. Please talk to everyone racing, they will be more than happy to answer any questions for you, and you may score some used stuff at a descent price also. Also, remember when racing, some of these guys have been racing for many many years, so don't get frustrated with yourself just cause you think you or you and a buddy maynot be as fast, we are here to help in anyway and you will get faster and faster every time. I'm not gonna make it do to baseball tournaments with my daughter, but there isn't anybody out there that wouldn't steer you in the right direction. Hope to see you soon.
