I will say this- The BMI is an absolute BEAST on asphalt. The R5.1 seems to handle carpet better. The BMI was so locked in at the rear that it was hard to get it to turn on the rug. That same locked in rear end let it carry a lot more speed in the turns on pavement without looping, though. The first time I drove my R5.1 was on pavement and I actually questioned my decision to switch until the first time that I ran on carpet. Then all I thought was "BMI..what??"
