Need some help please

Postby Ancient Losi on Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:24 pm

Been trying to set the idle on my buggy for the last 3 days and cant get it right. I think im doing something wrong but cant figure it out. Set the metering needle at .7 mm and the mixture screw is kicking my ass. Ill set it to were the wheels just barely turn on my starter box and rev it a few to clear it then apply the brakes. after about 2 secounds of brakes the motor will stall. If i apply brakes then let off the revs sky rocket and wont come back. :? BTW it is a OS 21 VG running a #8 glow plug and 20%

I plan on racing this sunday and am wondering if there would be someone willing to meet me sunday morning up at the track to help me out. I'm at a loss here.

Also I anyone want to pit for me?

Sounds as if you may have turned the wrong adjustments, or you have a leak somewhere. I'm sure someone will help. If I'm there I'll help out.

throttle linkage might not be closing the carb all the way consistantly. When it is reving up, push the rod that attaches to the carburator with your finger and see if it idles down. If so, the spring on the rod may not have enough tension or the rod is adjusted too short with collar that pulls the carb open.
