| Track Work Day(s) - January 2nd & 3rd (Posted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 6:26pm) |

We will be doing our yearly track rennovations to the offroad track this weekend. The current plans are to clean up around the facilities and to replace the drivers' stand for the offroad track. We would like for any able body that can come out and help to do so. Oval guys, if you want that drain pipe added in turns 3 and 4, you'd better show up with a shovel- we'll provide the pipe. Work starts on both days as early as possible (7-8am for some folks). |

| New ShortCourse Offroad Classes Announced (Posted Wednesday, July 15, 2009 11:44am) |
posted by Brian Davis |

|
After talking everything over with Mike Henry, we've come up with a solution to the SC10/Slash/Strike debate that should make everyone happy. There will now be 2 classes of ShortCourse trucks.
The first will be ShortCourse Spec. The rules for Spec are as follows- 1.) Traxxas Slash or Losi Strike trucks only. 2.) Stock 12t sealed 550 motors only. No modifications may be done to the motor, and the torque ring may not be removed. 3.) Tires must be either Traxxas Slash or Losi Strike stock tires on the stock rims of the truck they are being run on. Tire treads cannot be cut or modified. 4.) Body must be a short-course style body that totally encloses the tires when viewed from above. 5.) The only chassis modifications allowed are aluminum shock caps and RPM molded parts. 6.) Shock oils and pistons may be changed, but the springs must remain stock. 7.) Receiver and transmitter may be swapped out for the racer's preferred radio. 8.) Battery must be 2s Lipo(7.4v) or 6 cell NiMh with a capacity of 5000mah or less. 9.) Pinion and spur gear may be changed as long as they can be done without modifying the vehicle in any way. 10.) Drilling/Cutting/Lightening of the vehicle is not allowed.
The second class will be ShortCourse Pro. The rules for the Pro class are as follows- 1.) Any 2wd shortcourse truck based on an existing vehicle which fits the dimensions specified for the ROAR SCT class is allowed. 2.) Motors are limited to no less than a 4600kv brushless (10 turns), or a 17 turn brushed motor. Any speed controller which can be purchased over the counter can be used. 3.) Tires are limited to those intended for shortcourse trucks. The tires must meet the dimensions set in the ROAR SCT rules, and the tread patterns cannot be cut or modified in any manner. 1/8th scale buggy tire conversions are not allowed. 4.) Battery must be 2s Lipo(7.4v) or 6 cell NiMh with a capacity of 5000mah or less. 5.) Although excessive modification is discouraged, as long as the vehicle still meets the dimensions and weight set in the ROAR SCT rules, modifications are allowed. 6.) Trucks MUST have a front and rear bumper of a tubular rollcage design. These bumpers must remain intact during the duration of a race. 7.) Body must be a short-course style body that totally encloses the tires when viewed from above.
For further details on the Pro class, see the ROAR SCT rules below

| Website Recovery (Posted Tuesday, June 23, 2009 2:30pm) |

I'm currently still in the process of trying to recover as much of the website as possible. As it stands, the database used to power areas of the site such as the forum, news, calendar, racing rules, and results is still missing. If this can't be recovered, the forums will need to be set back up from scratch. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long.
On another note, last night was the conclusion of the offroad points. We will still be racing in offroad 2 weeks on December 20th, but we will start at 1pm instead of the usual 5pm to help avoid the extremely cold weather. The next onroad race in Daphne will be on December 14th. Trophies from the recent points series will be handed out on January 3rd at the first offroad points race of 2009.
Also, don't forget that we will be starting a spec class using the Traxxas Slash on January 3rd. Details about the class can be found on the flyer below (click to view). These trucks are $200 ready to run, and with strict rules specifying what can and can't be done to these trucks, it should make for some great racing. These trucks are nearly bullet proof and handle well enough for a beginner to drive.
